The Walkerton Business Improvement Area promotes businesses within our membership through various promotions and streetscape and beautifcation projects. Additionally, the Walkerton BIA offers their membership access to facade grants. The number of grants available is limited. Brockton Economic Development Committee
The Brockton Economic Development Committee recognizes local businesses for their dedicated effort shown in establishing their enterprise. They congratulate business anniversaries, relocations, significant expansions, and new businesses uprooting in the Brockton community. The EDC also offers facade grants annually to businesses within Brockton. More information.
Business to Bruce
The Business to Bruce program, in partnership with the Province of Ontario is offering up to $5,000 to eligible entrepeurs. The expanded grant program, grants will be offered that support local business startups through the "Starter Company Plus Program". Additionally, community foundations and reasdiness grants are available through the "Community Business Readiness Grant". More information.
Spruce the Bruce
Businesses located on Walkerton's main street can qualify for Spruce the Bruce grants. The community development program inspires downtown revitalization and community improvements. Grant options include community grants as well as local businesses (perpendicular signage & awning, and facade improvement and sidewalk patio). More information.

Explore the Bruce offers a variety of opportunities to help get your business noticed by visitors to Bruce County. Their website offers different business profile levels. They also provide businesses with the opportunity to sponsor incredibly popular Explore the Bruce Passport. More information.
Saugeen Economic Development Corporation
Saugeen Economic Development Corporation provides various business advisory and investment services. From business plans to dealing with your banker they can help you be prepared start and grow your business. They promote sustainable economic and social development throughout the region. They also run Hawks' Nest, which is a Dragon's Den inspired event. More infromation.
The Hawks' Nest is an opportunity to garner cash investments and to promote your business throughout the region. As an entrepreneur, you will have the opportunity to pitch your business ideas in an attempt to secure financial support from local investors, (the Hawks). Prior to submitting applications, entrepreneurs will receive assistance with preparing business plans and FREE training sessions that include how to prepare their pitch to the Hawks. VPI Workin Solutions
VPI provides employment programs, assessments and supportive vocational services that help residents of Ontario improve job readiness, explore training and get back to work. They can work directly with employers who are looking to hire. These programs and services are free for job seekers and employers as they are funded by the government of Ontario and, in part, by the Government of Canada. More information.
Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA)
The provincial government and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs work together to provide a set of funding programs that support good jobs, attract investment, and help the agri-food industry make and even greater contribution to Ontario's economic success.
